Daniel graduated from TMU's Film Studies program in 2014, where he was one of the few dedicated editors in his class. After cutting four short films in his thesis year, he spent a few years cutting news content for The Canadian Press—but he always had an indie project on the side, eventually leading to his first Telefilm-funded feature edit "Cardinals", which premiered at TIFF 2017.
In 2018, Daniel made the jump to freelancing, when he was commissioned by the Canadian Olympic Committee to edit a batch of micro-videos for the Pyeongchang Olympics, each dedicated to a Canadian athlete. That same year, his short film edit "Glitter's Wild Women" screened at TIFF 2018. After many more short film, music video, and commercial edits, Daniel was brought on to cut the full-length documentary "Attila", which headlined the 2023 Rendezvous with Madness film festival in Toronto, and is still available on Crave for Canadian streaming.
As of 2025, Daniel continues to edit full-time, cutting indie cinema and working with clients like American Express, the World Wildlife Fund, UNICEF, and Cadillac Fairview. Aside from TIFF, his film cuts have screened at VIFF, Inside Out, Venice Film Week, Stockholm Film Festival, and more.
He works and lives in downtown Toronto.
